By Jaclyn Paige Photography
Last weekend, Jaclyn Paige Photography had the chance to capture Emily and Kenny's sweet wedding day. They had planned for an outdoor ceremony at The Barn at Wildwood Springs; unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans and it poured for most of the afternoon! Somehow, we were able to dance between the raindrops (sort of) and get some great shots outdoors anyway. We started with the First Look, during which they also exchanged wedding gifts to each other. Emily wore her mother's wedding dress, altered from its 1989 glory and absolutely stunning on her! Kenny thought so too:
The First Look allowed us to create some images of Emily and Kenny before the ceremony (and before the rain started coming down in buckets.)
Because of the rain, the ceremony was moved indoors, but it's beautiful inside the barn as well! Before it got underway, I captured this image of Emily in her final moments as a single woman.
I could probably write about each of these images individually, but here's the ceremony (with one more pre-ceremony shot here for good measure- I love this one!) Also, take note of the Bride's grandmothers as flower girls. I had never seen this done before, but I think it's an incredible way to honor these women!
The wedding party was a lot of fun. We took some of these in the barn while the rain came down in earnest, and others after it had subsided. Emily and Kenny were such good sports about the weather. When life's storms roll their way, they've already had practice riding them out. Maybe that's why they say it's good luck to have rain on your wedding day!
The reception was a memorable celebration of Kenny and Emily's long-awaited marriage. They had a slideshow for their guests, BBQ, and dancing. I learned that Emily (and other ladies in her family) had spent months making all the decorations for the event, with lots of rustic touches including pine cones in her bouquet, which I thought was absolutely charming!
As the evening wound down, much to our delight, Emily and Kenny surprised us with the request to go back outdoors and get more portraits of just to the two of them. It was so much fun to shoot outside with increasingly darker skies! I'm so glad they asked, because we got some really great shots:
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Rivera!
